Dung (“Yung”) Mao is an educator in the University of Minnesota Extension Department of Family, Health and Wellbeing and serves the entire state of Minnesota. He develops and teaches programs for individuals and families in financial literacy. His work addresses need at the individual, community and policy levels through research, education and outreach. He earned master's and doctorate degrees in family social science from the University of Minnesota.
Sharon Powell is an educator with the University of Minnesota Extension Department of Family, Health and Wellbeing. She develops and teaches programs for individuals and families related to building financial skills and building parenting and relational skills. Her work addresses needs at the individual, community and policy levels through research, education and outreach. She earned a master's degree in human development counseling from Vanderbilt University and a doctorate in family social science from the University of Minnesota.
Identity thieves can use a child’s social security number to apply for government benefits, open bank and credit card accounts, apply for a loan or utility service, or rent a place to live. Presenter Axton Betz-Hamilton speaks from her professional experience as a child identity theft researcher and from her personal experience as a victim. The webinar will focus on preventing, detecting and repairing the damage of child identity theft.

Axton Betz-Hamilton, Ph.D., is an assistant professor and undergraduate program coordinator of consumer affairs at South Dakota State University. Betz-Hamilton’s previous work experience includes faculty appointments at Eastern Illinois University, University of Wyoming and Iowa Central Community College. She has experience as a financial counselor serving military members and their families. She is the author of “The Less People Know About Us,” a memoir based on her personal experience as a victim of child identity theft.

Amy Johnston is a food safety educator at the University of Minnesota Extension. She develops food safety programming and provides education across the state to empower all Minnesotans to make informed food safety decisions. Amy earned a bachelor of science degree in dietetics and a master’s in public health nutrition. Prior to joining Extension, she managed healthcare and senior living food service and nutrition operations.
Susie West is a health and nutrition educator at the University of Minnesota Extension. As a public health professional with a background in mental health and food security, she is passionate about health communication and helping make the healthy choice, the easy choice.

Cindy Hale is a food safety educator in the University of Minnesota Extension food systems program. She develops food safety programming and provides education across the state to empower all Minnesotans to engage fully in their local food system. Cindy has a doctorate in ecosystems ecology and science education. She is also the co-founder and owner of Clover Valley Farms, a highly diversified value-added farming operation in northeast Minnesota.

Angela Gupta is a University of Minnesota Extension professor of forestry specializing in terrestrial invasive species. She has studied the stress of climate change and invasive species as it relates to participatory science volunteers. She earned a master of arts degree in organizational management from Spring Arbor University and a bachelor of science degree in forestry from the University of Kentucky. Before joining Extension, she was an industrial forester working with private landowners in Michigan and a Peace Corps agroforestry extensionist in Kenya, East Africa.
Emily Krekelberg is a University of Minnesota Extension educator for farm safety and health focusing on safe machinery operation, accident prevention, farmer mental health and suicide prevention. She is a passionate advocate for wellness in agriculture and holds a bachelor of science degree in animal science and a master’s in agricultural education from the University of Minnesota.
State legislators across the country are considering bills designed to limit rights for transgender youth's access to bathrooms, sports, activities and age-appropriate medical care. This webinar will examine national trends, Minnesota's proposed legislation for the current session and how these efforts impact the wellbeing of transgender youth.

Jenifer K. McGuire, Ph.D., MPH, is a professor of family social science and Extension specialist at the University of Minnesota. Her research focuses on the health and wellbeing of transgender youth, specifically how social contexts like schools and families influence the wellbeing of transgender and gender non-conforming young people.
