Extension offering tax education courses for professionals

Beginning this fall, University of Minnesota Extension will offer tax education courses, including the Income Tax short course, Agricultural Tax Issues and timber management and taxation.

Tax professionals can take these courses online and in person at several locations throughout Minnesota from October to January.

“We are excited to manage the Income Tax short course and expand tax education courses offered through University of Minnesota Extension,” said Rob Holcomb, EA, Extension educator. “Expert tax instructors from the IRS, private industry and beyond will share the latest tax legislation updates. Our goal is to be the one-stop shop for tax professionals to meet their credential requirements in one convenient place.”

Both one- and two-day courses provide the necessary tools to stay updated on the latest tax legislation and information affecting tax returns for 2024 and beyond.

Courses are designed to add value to the participant’s practice as the curriculum examines taxation topics affecting individual, small business and farm returns and are fashioned for certified public accountants (CPAs), enrolled agents, attorneys, volunteer income tax assistance (VITA) volunteers, annual filing season program (AFSP) participants and more.

Appropriate continuing education credits will be awarded upon completion of the course.

Early bird registration and pricing for classes are now open. The registration fee includes class materials and the tax education books needed throughout the session. Lunch, snacks and refreshments will be served to those attending in person.

Find registration information, pricing and course details on the tax education for professionals page.
