Community Climate Leaders - Pine River

The Community Climate Leaders Program will teach you how to take climate action in your community and connect with others who are doing similar work. 

The online course begins on March 30. In-person sessions will be held on Thursday evenings, April 9, April 23, May 7, and May 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Happy Dancing Turtle in Pine River.

Online topics

  • Five online modules covering climate change basics.
  • What climate change looks like in Minnesota.
  • Accessible climate actions you can take.
  • How to amplify your impact by working in the community.
  • How to integrate climate justice.
  • Leadership skills.

In-person sessions include

  • Group discussions.
  • Climate communication exercises.
  • Sharing climate action plans.
  • A capstone project to make plans for taking climate action in your community.
  • Content that covers "The Climate Action Handbook" by Heidi Roop, a climate action notebook, and other activity materials.

Audience

Anyone interested in learning more about climate change in Minnesota.

Cost

$200

This program is offered on a sliding scale so that everyone can participate. Choose the amount you can pay at registration.
