Fruit and vegetable farming

Do you dream of starting or expanding a small farm or buying an acreage? The small farm start-up workshop series will provide you with a solid background in all aspects of small farm operation and management.

Connect with other fruit and vegetable growers to build relationships, reflect on the growing season, share insights and new ideas, learn about ongoing research in fruit and vegetables, and build future collaborations.

Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) can improve the quality and safety of your produce and help you access new markets. This training is for small to medium-size fruit and vegetable farms, but any farmer or gardener is welcome to attend.

The Produce Safety Rule, part of the federal Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), requires that fruit and vegetable farms that grow, pack, harvest or hold produce and that do not qualify for an exemption or exclusion from the Rule attend this training.
