Structural pest control applicator licenses are for applicators who apply pesticides in, on, under or around structures.
Minnesota Structural Pest Management Conference
You may attend the 2024 conference either in person or online. Registration will begin in January.
- In-person:
- March 4, 2024, for special sessions L and N. You MUST complete the next day's in-person general session or online sessions to receive credit.
- March 5, 2024, for categories A, SPCA, S, M and special session P.
- The conference will be held at the Heritage Center, 6155 Earle Brown Drive, Brooklyn Center, Minnesota 55430.
- Online: March 18-May 1, 2024
- You must complete the general session to receive credit for the special sessions.

SPCA: Structural Pest Control - Journeyman or Master. People licensed as SPCA Journeyman or Master must attend an MDA-approved recertification training and renew their license every year.
SPCA: Structural Pest Control - Fumigation Endorsement. A licensed SPCA Journeyman or Master must recertify the Fumigation Endorsement at least every other year. Fumigation is offered annually as an add-on program to the main structural conference in March.
Category S: Structural noncommercial. People licensed as Category S (noncommercial) Applicators must attend an MDA-approved recertification training and renew this license every year.
Category M: Food Processing noncommercial. People licensed as Category M (noncommercial) Applicators must attend an MDA-approved recertification training and renew this license every other year. Category M is offered annually at the main structural conference in March and in odd years at the fall stored grain conference.
Category N: Stored Grain and Fumigation. People licensed as Category N Applicators must attend an MDA-approved recertification training and renew this license every other year. Category N is offered annually at the main structural conference in March and in odd years at the fall stored grain conference.
You may recertify in additional categories if you participate in the main SPCA program. The following categories require recertification every other year:
- Category E: Turf & ornamentals
- Category J: Natural areas, forestry & rights-of-way
- Category L: Mosquito and biting fly
- Category N: Fumigation
- Category P: Vertebrate pests
