Calling all youth grades K-13: We will be having a 4-H shooting sports and wildlife (SS&W) informational meeting on Monday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Jackson County Middle School in Lakefield. In the 4-H SS&W program, you can learn important life skills through safe and educational experiences.
To participate in 4-H SS&W activities, youth will need to become members of 4-H as part of the registration process. This 4-H enrollment is free of charge and does not obligate the youth or families to participate in 4-H outside of the SS&W program unless further participation in 4-H is desired by the youth or family.
Youth who are in K-2 grades can only participate in wildlife activities. They may not handle firearms or do any programming with firearms, as per the Minnesota 4-H Cloverbud Policy.
Important to note: This program is not intended to replace hunter safety lessons and we encourage youth to continue to complete their hunters safety training in order to purchase a hunting license to hunt in Minnesota.
