We meet once a month and learn about teamwork and leadership skills. 4-H’ers will be empowered to recognize their personal leadership strengths and put them to use by contributing to the communities they are a part of. Any 4-H’ers 6th grade and up are invited to attend.Annual highlights that Y.E.S. hosts are:Prom dress saleSpring Banquette / SocialYouth room painting and hang out at the county fairAnd more!More information about Y.E.S. in general is available on our website. Anoka County’s local ambassador group Y.E.S. is kicking off another year. What is a 4-H ambassador and who can join you may ask? Ambassadors are youth in grades 6+ who want to make a difference in 4-H and their communities. Officer and Committee Chair nominations typically take place at the September meeting. Youth interested in being an officer or committee chair should come prepared to give a short (2 minutes) speech on why they want to be an officer/committee chair. Officer positions are open to members of Y.E.S. who have been part of the group for at least 1 year. Committee Chair positions are open to any member who plans to attend meetings and events regularly. Open positions are:President - The Youth President is responsible for co-creating meeting agendas with the group advisors, running meetings, and delegating responsibilities to other members. The President should coordinate with the Vice President and Activities Chair to plan a recreational activity for every meeting. This officer should strive to be interested in and active in all facets of Y.E.S. activities, meetings, and events.Vice President - The Youth VP serves in the President's absence and should serve as program chair for meetings. Coordinates with the President and Activities Chair to plan a recreational activity for every meeting. This officer should strive to be interested in and active in all facets of Y.E.S. activities, meetings, and events.Secretary - The Youth Secretary keeps complete and accurate minutes of all meetings, including the attendance at each meeting. This officer should strive to be interested in and active in all facets of Y.E.S. activities, meetings, and events.Treasurer / Fundraising Chair - The Youth Treasurer takes care of all group funds and collects fees when required by the group. As Fundraising Chair, they are the youth lead for the Prom Dress Sale event. Responsibilities include: leading donation collection efforts, marketing strategy to target audiences, and goal setting for the annual sale. This officer should strive to be interested in and active in all facets of Y.E.S. activities, meetings, and events.Activities Chair - The Youth Recreational Activities Chair serves as lead on all recreational and social activities including the October MEA special event planning. Coordinates with the President and Vice President to plan a recreational activity for every meeting. This officer should strive to be interested in and active in all facets of Y.E.S. activities, meetings, and events.Service Chair - The Youth Community Service Chair serves as lead for all community service activities. Responsibilities include coordinating a minimum of 1 service activity throughout the year.
