4-H clover Teens Engaged in Emerging Leadership (TEEL)

A group of youth facing the camera and smiling.

Teens Engaged in Emerging Leadership (TEEL) is a workshop for youth in grades 10+ to gain valuable leadership skills while connecting with peers from other counties and regions.

This workshop builds on the leadership skills older youth have developed at Building Leadership and Understanding (BLU) and through their lived experience both within and outside of 4-H. Teens will engage in large and small group discussions. It is designed and facilitated by a team of older youth and young adult leaders.

Youth will engage in activities that

  • Build upon leadership skills already gained from BLU or other leadership experiences.
  • Learn from older youth and recent 4-H alumni.

TEEL is planned by the civic engagement and leadership team, the Minnesota 4-H State Ambassadors, and older 4-H youth in grades 12-13 along with recent 4-H alumni.

TEEL workshops take place at different locations across the state. Pick one of the following sessions to attend:

  • Feb. 3-4 at the Castaway Club in Detroit Lakes - CANCELED

  • Feb. 10-11 at Camp Omega in Waterville

  • Feb. 17-18 at Camp Friendship in Annandale
