Classroom Energizers teacher workshop

Energizers are short, physical activity breaks integrated with academic concepts. In addition to physical education and recess, classroom-based physical activity offers unique benefits. This workshop is for classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators and other school staff.

Workshop objectives

  • Understand the academic impacts of physical activity.
  • Know and understand the difference between physical education and physical activity.
  • Reduce off-task behaviors.
  • Provide a fun and motivating learning classroom environment for students.

Space and time requirements

A single 60- to 75-minute session will equip elementary or secondary classroom teachers and staff with the skills and resources to lead a wide variety of fun, engaging and inclusive classroom energizers that benefit all students. This workshop can be adapted to meet the learning needs of the participants and to fit the space and time needs of the partnering agency.
