Train-the-Trainer for your community

Extension offers programs in a train-the-trainer model to provide sustained education in your community. We contract with communities, non-profits, professional associations and many other types of organizations to create training that applies Extension's research-based education to your sponsoring organization's needs.

Programs listed below that do not require attending an Extension-led train-the-trainer workshop are labeled Take and use or Take and teach.

Financial Educator Certificate Program

Designed for community-based professionals, the Financial Educator Certificate (FEC) is an online course that helps learners deepen their own financial knowledge while empowering them to educate others on managing resources, building assets, and improving financial well-being. 


Renter 101

Renter 101 is an online course to help renters navigate the rental process, including strategies to choose, secure and maintain housing. Lease agreements and security deposits are discussed. 


RentWise Tenant Education

RentWise is a comprehensive curriculum that provides education and skills on renting and takes an active-learning approach that stresses renter responsibility. In-person or asynchronous online options available.

Rusty's Cooking Club

Take and use

Rusty's Cooking Club is a fun club connecting preschool-aged children with their caregivers. Members receive a monthly recipe packet to create special memories in the kitchen. Each monthly packet includes a menu, snack idea, visual shopping list, a "look and cook" recipe, learning video, activities and conversation topics. 


Eat, Move, and Learn Together

Designed for adult English Language Learners, this series of 11 lessons teaches newcomers how to thrive in their new environment. While practicing vocabulary and engaging in hands-on activities, adults learn about nutritious local foods, try physical activities, get shopping tips and cook together.


Walking with Ease

Walk With Ease is a program that helps people reintroduce walking into their routine, gain confidence and increase strength. Participants meet in person to talk, learn, stretch and walk outdoors while fostering social support.

Parenting in the Age of Overindulgence: Online course

Parenting

Take and use

This course is an exploration of overindulgence and how you can avoid it with your children. In this course, you will learn what overindulgence is; use tools to identify and address overindulgence; see real examples and hear ideas for addressing overindulgence in families. This course is free and takes about one hour to complete and includes a certificate of completion.
