The CAWT Online Course is designed to help you meet your Commercial Animal Waste Technician (CAWT) licensure recertification requirements for the MDA (Minnesota Department of Agriculture).

Details

  • Course deadline: You must complete the course by midnight, November 17, 2024, after which you must retest to maintain your license.
  • Course duration: About 3 hours; it can be completed at your own pace and you will be able to log in and out with a password.
  • By completing and passing this course, you are recertified for 2 years.

Registration

You must register to get access to the course. No refunds will be issued for cancelations after registration closes. Cancelations before the close of registration will be fully refunded.

Recertification requirements

License lookup: Look up your CAWT license number or expiration date.

  • New applicators: If you have not been previously certified and licensed, you must watch the videos and take a quiz from the MN Department of Agriculture.  See initial certification instructions. 
  • Certified applicators: To be eligible to renew your license, you must meet recertification requirements. You can either rewatch the videos and retake a quiz every year or attend a recertification course every other year.  
  • New site managers: If you have not been previously certified and licensedyou must first pass the certification exam (80% or better) for an initial license. See initial certification instructions.
  • Certified site managers: To be eligible to renew your license you must meet recertification requirements by attending a course once every other year or re-test.
