The Minnesota Agroforestry Institute is a two-and-a-half-day workshop that includes classroom sessions and on-farm visits. Participants learn how to integrate agroforestry concepts into a practical farm plan. Online videos are a prerequisite, and should be watched before the September 15 training.
We will discuss the five agroforestry practices (windbreaks, silvopasture, alley cropping, riparian forest buffers and forest farming) and how to design and implement them.
This training is for anyone working with landowners who want to plant working trees for multiple benefits on their land, including local service providers like SWCD, NRCS, DNR, and agriculture and forestry consultants.
$100
Fee includes room, bus, and speaker hotel expenses. Institute sponsors will cover meal expenses, which include three lunches, two dinners, and refreshments. Participants are responsible for their own lodging and transportation costs.
Registration is required.
University of Minnesota Extension is committed to providing equal opportunity for participation in all programs, services and activities.
