There are various types of scholarships Chisago County 4-H offers:
1. Event scholarships
Regional/State events:
If you are attending a 4-H regional or statewide event (examples include: BLU, YELLO, 4-H Camp, NE Livestock, Winter Roundup) you may be eligible to receive up to a 50% scholarship on your first trip and 25% on subsequent trips.
To apply, download the Event Scholarship Application or complete the request online. Fill out the form completely and send it in for review at the Chisago County Extension Office. This form must be submitted within 30 days of attending the event to be eligible. Other requirements are explained on the form. If you have questions or are unsure if an event you are attending qualifies call the Extension Office.
National events:
If you are attending a National 4-H trip you may be eligible to receive additional funding. This is open for all 4-H members regardless of your income level.
To apply, download the National Event Scholarship Application or complete the request online. Fill out the form completely and send it in for review at the Chisago County Extension Office. This form must be submitted within 30 days of attending the event to be eligible. Other requirements are explained on the form. 2. Financial Assistance Scholarship
If your family is experience financial hardship and need an event fee or enrollment fee waived or partially reduced please request financial assistance through submitting the Assistance Scholarship Request. The process can also be completed online. This is a confidential process. Information completed will only be viewed and shared with 4-H Staff.
3. Volunteer Chaperone Scholarships
For events that require the use of a 4-H chaperone, the 4-H Extension Educator will recruit a designated chaperone. Expectations and requirements will be set and should be followed for this role to be eligible to have 4-H funds cover expenses related to participation. Discuss budget needs with the 4-H Extension Educator prior to filling this role.
State Fair Chaperones fees covered will include entry fee, food, lodging and parking for the duration of the 4-H Encampment.
