Dear friends,
Community is at the heart of Extension’s mission, and this edition of Source magazine highlights the variety of ways in which Extension builds connections across communities. Some of those relationships are long-lasting and celebrating milestone anniversaries this year, while others are just getting started.
This edition also highlights the diversity of educational programming that Extension offers with our partners. That can mean reaching new audiences locally or in other parts of the world, or it can mean using research-based information to adapt programs that help farmers survive and thrive. I am proud of how our Extension faculty and educators are innovating in their work so that they remain relevant and inclusive in a fast-evolving world.
The seasons are changing, and Extension is shifting focus away from a busy summer of fairs, tours, camps, and outdoor programming. Events that showcased Extension’s impact were well-attended and for the first time, Extension’s Farm Family of the Year program honored families from all 87 counties!
As we transition into harvest and the fall and winter holidays, I want to say thank you for supporting Extension, whether that includes participation in programs, civic advocacy, financial support, volunteering or simply sharing the story of your community’s connections with Extension.
All of you are part of our Extension community, and we could not achieve the impact that is highlighted in this edition of Source without you. Thank you.
