Hello!
Minnesota 4-H State Ambassador
My name is Vannah, and I’m proud to serve as a Minnesota 4-H State Ambassador from Freeborn County.
Being ready to respond
This spring’s service challenge was being ready to respond, and I had an unexpected chance to put that into action.
Back in February, I attended Building Leadership and Understanding (BLU), where we hosted several service stations, including one where we made first aid kits. I was lucky enough to help run that station and ended up with three kits of my own. At the time, I wasn’t sure how I would use them but that changed quickly.
At the Minnesota FFA State Convention, I had a moment of realization: with so many people walking around and participating in events, someone was bound to need a little help.
Sure enough, those first aid kits came in handy! I was able to assist several people dealing with painful blisters, and it felt amazing to turn a simple service project into something that made a real difference.
Finding inspiration at county fairs
One thing I’m especially looking forward to is fair season!
I love visiting fairs across the area and seeing all the incredible projects 4-H members have worked on throughout the year. It’s a great way to gather inspiration for my own general projects and maybe even scout out a little friendly competition for the Minnesota State Fair.
Of course, I also can’t wait to be back in the ring showing sheep, goats, llamas and dairy cattle at my county fair.
From 4-H State Ambassador to entrepreneur
Serving on the Minnesota 4-H State Ambassador team this past year has opened so many doors for me. Through the events I’ve attended and the people I’ve met, I’ve discovered a new passion.
This summer, I’m excited to launch my own photography and videography business. Thanks to the guidance and encouragement of others who share this interest, I’ve learned valuable tips to get started and build a strong foundation. I’m beyond excited to spend my summer traveling around the state, capturing special moments and telling stories through my lens.
I hope everyone has a fantastic summer and gets the chance to showcase something they’ve learned in 4-H this year.
You never know where your experiences might take you.
