Practice Schedule:

  • Tuesdays, May 21-July 30, 6:30-8:30 p.m. for obedience, rally, and showmanship training at Spring Lake Park (outdoors), 650 Webster Avenue in North Mankato. MAP
  • Sundays, May 19-July 28 , 1-3 p.m. for agility training at the Key City Kennel Club (indoors), 210th Lane in Mankato

Dog ID and Vaccination

All dogs must be identified in 4HOnline by May 15, 2024 to participate in training and shows. (Animal ID does not apply to Cloverbud (grade K-2) members. All dogs at practice must have proof of vaccination (included in the ID worksheet. See z.umn.edu/AnimalID for details. You can also lease a dog (borrow from someone else). Lease form must be uploaded into 4HOnline by May 15 (see z.umn.edu/LeaseAnimal). A 4-H member may show a maximum of two dogs in the dog project.

Weather cancellations

Outdoor practice will be canceled for severe weather by noon on practice day. Practice will automatically be canceled when the heat index is 105 or higher or during thunderstorms and tornado watches and warnings. Additional cancellations may occur at the discretion of trainers. We will make every attempt to communicate by email when practice is canceled. The weather shelter for Spring Lake Park is the bathroom structure by shelter 1.

Multi-County Dog Show, Aug. 3

Mark your calendars!  The 4-H Dog projects of Nicollet, Blue Earth, and Faribault counties will hold a multi-county dog show on Saturday, Aug. 3 at the Key City Kennel Club in Mankato. Registration will start at 8:00am and the show will begin at 9:00am.

You will register for this dog show when you register for the county fair in FairEntry. See your county premium book for important details and deadline adjustments.
