Ann Lemke had been volunteering her time with 4-H for years, but she dreamed of making a bigger impact. She wanted to become a high school teacher to help more young people. Thanks to a scholarship from Minnesota 4-H, she will realize her dream.
4-H Water Watchers has made a big leap in its fourth year. It was already an exciting learning experience for young scientists, designed to embed natural science experiences in recreational activities like with kayaking and trapping crayfish.
A special round of Helping Hands Awards will support 4-H clubs and county 4-H programs that want to partner with a local food shelf or nutrition organization to organize a healthy food or essential supply drive in their community.
