4-H clover January 4-H state ambassador update

Hello,

Tyler L., Minnesota 4-H State Ambassador
Tyler L., Wright County
Minnesota 4-H State Ambassador

My name is Tyler, and this is my first year on the Minnesota 4-H State Ambassador team.

Winter is here, and with it comes a new year full of great events, activities and fun!

Here are some things we have been doing as ambassadors and things coming up in 4-H.

Inspired to lead after National 4‑H Congress

From Nov. 24 to 28, four Minnesota 4-H State Ambassadors and four Minnesota 4-H State Agriculture Ambassadors went to Atlanta to participate in the National 4-H Congress.

While there, they attended workshops, listened to speakers and participated in community service.

In addition, the participating ambassadors expanded their skills and engaged with other 4-H members. They left inspired to make an impact in their community.

Blast into leadership at BLU and TEEL

The state ambassador team has been working hard on planning and preparing for the February leadership workshops: Building Leadership and Understanding (BLU) for youth in grades 6-9 and Teens Engaged in Emerging Leadership (TEEL) for youth in grades 10 and up.

This year's theme is "3..2..1.. Blasting into Leadership!"

We will have three BLU and TEEL events this year, so pick the one that works the best for you:

  • Feb. 3-4 in Detroit Lakes

  • Feb. 10-11 in Waterville

  • Feb. 17-18 near Annandale

Register by Jan. 19 to join us for a fun-filled weekend where you can learn new skills, meet new people and grow in your leadership.

Horse project learning and leadership at Winter Round Up

Winter Round Up is a three-day, two-night horse project learning and leadership conference for 4-H’ers in grade 6 and up, as well as adult horse project leaders. It will take place Jan. 19-21 at the Castaway Club in Detroit Lakes.

At this conference, you will learn useful information, hear from speakers, attend educational workshops, meet new people and have fun.

Register by Jan. 10 to attend.

New year, new opportunities

The year has just begun, and there is so much fun to come and so much to do. I can't wait to see what the year will bring.

Happy New Year!
