Digging deep shows evidence of improved practices

Goodhue County 4-H is able to provide our programming with the help of two fundraisers. Each year we host the Hog Roast and the proceeds from that, as well as the 20% of the proceeds kept at the Livestock Auction at County Fair, is how we sustain our programming and continue to offer fun programs and learning opportunities to all of you! The success of the Hog Roast Fundraiser has led us to eliminate registration fees, and reduce (or in many cases completely eliminate) registration fees for our programs.

The Goodhue County Master Gardeners had several projects throughout the county.

Garden-in-A-Box was received by Kenyon Master Gardener Heidi Haugen who recruited teens to set up the gardens and then guided children in the school’s childcare program in planting, tending and harvesting.

The Goodhue County Project Bowl team traveled to Louisville, Kentucky this week to compete against other teams from across the country.  This was the second national competition for this team, and this year they placed 9th out of 19 teams. Congratulations to the team and their coaches.
