A message from Associate Dean and Minnesota 4-H Director
Dear families and volunteers,
We are looking forward to 4-H being at the Minnesota State Fair this summer! We are especially excited to receive thousands of 4-H’ers who earned trips to our state showcase or who are participating in our events and programs during the fair.
Public health and safety
As your State Director, I want you to know that the safety of everyone involved in Minnesota 4-H is my highest priority. As we prepare for our showcase event at the Minnesota State Fair this year, the safety of youth, volunteers and staff is front and center in our planning. Minnesota 4-H is working very closely with the state fair organization to ensure that 4-H'ers are safe when participating in our showcase. We also collaborate with University of Minnesota housing and security for safety on campus. To learn more about our preparation for the state fair, please read our safety plan.
Celebrate with kindness and respect
Our state showcase is one way to celebrate the achievements of 4-H’ers, and this year we get to be together in-person. For those unable to attend in person, our virtual options are a wonderful alternative. This will be the largest Minnesota in-person event since the pandemic began. Let’s all remember to put safety first, and to treat each other with kindness and respect as we interact during the fair and throughout the 4-H year.
I plan to be at our state showcase throughout the fair. Please stop by and say hi. I look forward to connecting with each of you.
Warmly,
Dr. Jennifer A. Skuza
