Pipestone County 4-H youth showcased their knowledge and teamwork at the recent Regional Livestock Project Bowl/Quizbowl Contest in Redwood Falls on March 21, earning strong finishes, lessons learned and qualifying two teams for the State competition.
All three Pipestone County teams participated in the General Livestock project area. In the Junior Division, Pipestone White earned an impressive 2nd place finish, securing a spot to the State contest. Team members included Tyson Faber, Calyn Hulstein, Hailey Kruisselbrink, and Neva VanderPoel. The Pipestone Green team also represented the county well, placing 5th, with members Evan Johnson, Harper Kruisselbrink, Hudon Nepp, and Hailey Steuck.
In the Intermediate Division, the Pipestone team placed 3rd, also qualifying for State. Team members included Charlie Folkerts, Otto Johnson, Carter Steck, and Drake VanderPoel.
These 4-Hers worked hard to prepare, practicing multiple times a week over the last few months.Their dedication and excitment were evident as they competed against teams from across the region.
Also a very special thanks to Tyenna Muller and Taylin Muller for volunteering their time to work with these 4-Hers and prepare them for this great experience.
