An evening gardening education event will be held in Waite Park on Monday Sept. 16. Presented by the U of M Extension Master Gardener Volunteers of Stearns County.

Session 1: Growing garlic in central Minnesota
In this short 45-minute presentation, you will learn how to grow some of the best tasting garlic in the world. Master Gardener Jeff Mehr will talk about the different types of garlic including, how and when to plant, how to protect garlic over winter, what to do in the spring and growing season, harvest, curing and different ways of using garlic.
During this presentation, you will also receive two recipes using garlic.
Session 2: Late blooming perennials
Want to help support pollinators? Learn different plants that will extending the growing season in your gardens from Master Gardener Joan Andersen.
It is free to attend the workshop, but pre-registration is necessary due to limited space.
