U of M Extension resources for drought, now designated natural disaster

Find extreme weather resources for farmers, ranchers and gardeners

The United States Department of Agriculture has designated several Minnesota counties as primary natural disaster areas, which allows the Farm Service Agency to extend emergency credit to producers through emergency loans.

Much of Minnesota, in addition to those counties, is in drought. University of Minnesota Extension's extreme weather website offers information on crops, livestock, gardens, homes with well water and more.

Additionally, stay up to date with Minnesota Crop News. Although much of the state's crops have been harvested, there are concerns about too-dry soybeans, managing residue, alfalfa and nutrient management practices.
