May 5 - Local county meetings: Ambassadors (3 p.m.), Leader Council (5:30 p.m.) State Exchange (6:30 p.m.) held at the Roseau County Courthouse Boardroom. 

THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS! Thank you for all that you do to support our 4-H youth and families in Roseau County. We invite you to join us for cookies & refreshments on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 5 p.m. at the Roseau County Courthouse Boardroom. You are welcome to stay for the Leader Council meeting to follow at 5:30 p.m.

May 9 - Horse Drill Team Interest Meeting (6:30 p.m.) In-person at the Roseau County Courthouse Boardroom or Zoom. Contact Kelsey to register, emery087@umn.edu. All youth and volunteers interested in participating in or supporting the Roseau County 4-H Drill Team please attend. 

May 10 -Registration deadline for NW Regional camp 4-H Camp at Sandhill Lake (gr. 3-6) held June 4-6 at Sand Hill Lake Camp, Fosston MN..  

May 15 - Animal ID deadline in 4HOnline. All animals (Livestock & Horse) must be owned or leased and identified according to each species requirements in 4-H Online by May 15, 2024. More county specific details can be found  in the Livestock Animal ID Letter 

May 15 - Enrollment Deadline. Deadline to enroll in 4-H in order to show projects at fair without consequences. 

May 15 - Local Summer Day Camp registration deadline. All area youth (completed grades K-6 in 2024) across Roseau County and beyond are invited to attend 4-H summer camps! Registration in 4-H Online is required  to attend camp. May 17 - Deadline to register for  Youth Exploring Leadership and Learning Opportunities (YELLO) June 12 - 15 Grades 7+ -one year past high school. YELLO will be held at UMN, Morris Campus . NOTE: Roseau County 4-H will pay the FULL COST of any Roseau County 4-H member wishing to attend YELLO in 2024. Adult chaperones will be needed and there will be no cost. Charter bus transportation will also be provided, free of charge from Roseau. 

May 19 - Roseau County 4-H Day Camp Counselor Training (Grades 7+): Are you a youth in grade 7+ interested in working with younger youth as a camp counselor? We will provide training and support to learn skills as a camp counselor. This is a great opportunity to add volunteer experience to your resume and to gain volunteer hours. Registration in 4-H Online is required. May 31 - Deadline To Register  for 4-H Outdoor Adventures Camp at Lake Bronson held August 5-7  for youth in completed Gr. 3 - 8. Register in 4HOnline under ‘Events’ > ‘4-H Outdoor Adventures Camp at Lake Bronson’. 

May 31 - Deadline to register for Ag Academy: Passion to Career in Mankato. Join us, as well as our partners at FFA, for Ag Academy: Passion to Career– a unique opportunity for youth in grades 7-11 to explore different careers in agriculture, food and natural resources while experiencing a college campus. In addition, college professors and industry leaders will provide hands-on learning experiences on topics like animals, communications and more. This 3-day, 2-night camp runs from June 20-22, and is held at Minnesota State University (MSU) and South Central College (SCC), Mankato, Minn. Cost $100. Check with your local program for a scholarship to attend. Learn more and register.

June 1- 15 - FairEntry Registration will be open to enter/register 4-H projects for county fair showcase & events - more information to come after May 15. 

June 15 - Deadline to turn in the required paperwork to the UMN Extension/4-H Office including: Horse coggins, Livestock Registered animal certificates, Poultry Statement of Origin and Livestock Quality Assurance Training Deadline. Options: To find a training or learn more about your options to complete training visit the Roseau County 4-H webpage, https://z.umn.edu/Roseau4H-LQAE 

June 4-6 - 4-H Camp at Sandhill Lake (gr. 3-6)

June 18-25 - Roseau County State Exchange travel to Massachusetts 

JULY

July 8 - Demonstrations  (1 p.m.) at Roseau County Courthouse Boardroom

July 9  - Performing Arts (2 p.m.) at Senior Center. 

July 10 -  Food Revue  (3 p.m.-5 p.m) at Roseau County Courthouse Boardroom. 

July 11 - Fashion Revue (1 p.m.) Roseau City Center - Evening revue to follow judging at 5:00 p.m.

July 16 - Livestock Interviews (9:00 a.m. - 12 p.m.) Messiah Church, Roseau

July 16- 4-H Building Pre-Fair Cleanup (6:00 p.m.) at Roseau County fairgrounds. Clubs to help: Cool Clover Kids, Dieter Doers, Grass Lake, Grygla Go Getters, Roseau Shooting Sports

July 17 - Mandatory (Virtual) Horse Exhibitor Meeting (6:00 p.m.) 

July 18- Mandatory (Virtual) Livestock Exhibitor Meeting (6:00 p.m.) 

July 21-27 - Roseau County Fair (4-H Project Showcase) at Roseau County fairgrounds  

July 27 - 4-H Building post fair cleanup (9:00 a.m. - until done) at Roseau County fairgrounds. Club to help: Badger Pacers, Gopher, Green Acres, North Star and Independents.
