4-H clover Koochiching County 4-H showcase at the fair

It’s almost fair time! Below are several documents to prepare and register 4-H county fair projects, including the schedule of events, rules and other important information.

This year, the Koochiching County 4-H Showcase will include:

  • Horse and other animal science exhibits will be showcased at the Northern Minnesota District Fair in Littlefork from July 11-13, 2025.
  • All special events and general 4-H exhibits will be showcased at the Koochiching County Fair in Northome from Aug. 8-10, 2025.

Showcasing projects provides a great opportunity for 4-H members to show what they have learned in their projects this past year. All projects must have been created since last year’s showcase.

If you have questions about fair registrations or anything related to 4-H at the fair, please contact Stacy Hall, Extension educator in Koochiching County, at [email protected] or 218-324-2709.

Registering for the fair

Please review the Koochiching County 4-H 2025 Showcase Guide before registering for your exhibits to help you select which classes you would like to sign up for. You are encouraged to read this information thoroughly, as there have been several changes. If you would like to receive a printed copy, contact Stacy Hall at [email protected]

Please register for the fair online using FairEntry, our system that is integrated with 4-H Online. Go to koochiching.fairentry.com and use your 4-H Online login info.

Some resources to assist you as you register your exhibits include:

The deadlines to register in FairEntry are:

  • Monday, June 30 for horse and animal science exhibits
  • Thursday, July 31 for special events and general 4-H project exhibits

If you do not have online access, you can request a paper form from the Extension office. However, please make every effort to use the FairEntry system. It will save valuable staff and volunteer time during this busy fair preparation time.

Please note: Each registered fair exhibit should be unique. For example, if you made three bracelets using the same technique, enter them as one project. However, if the bracelets were made using different techniques, enter them as separate projects.

Important: If you have animal projects and missed the May 15 animal ID deadline, you will not be able to enter any animal entries in the FairEntry system. Please contact Stacy Hall for assistance.

Volunteers needed

Koochiching County 4-H events rely on volunteers. There are several roles that need to be filled; it is not necessary to be a 4-H screened volunteer to fill any of these volunteer roles. Most of these volunteer positions can also be filled by youth volunteers. Training on roles and responsibilities will be provided to volunteers prior to the fair. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Stacy Hall.
