The 4-H Management Committee is the principal planning, decision making, and evaluation body concerning 4-H policies, programs, activities, and events for Anoka County. Any current 4-H youth leader or adult volunteer who has been involved with 4-H for at least one year is eligible to be a candidate for Management Committee. Joining this committee helps contribute to creating a dynamic program. It also is a positive experience with a group of dedicated (and fun!) volunteers who care about making a difference!
The term of all Management Committee members is from October through September. Ideally, each 4-H club and large project area have a representative and serve on the Management Committee. Meetings are generally held on the first Thursday of each month, at the Bunker Hills Activities Center, via zoom or a combination of both.
The Management Committee supports the Anoka County 4-H Program in the following ways:
- Organizational planning/support volunteer education
- Policy making as it relates to the 4-H program
- Financial responsibilities
- Represent 4-H Youth Development to the community & advocate for 4-H Youth Development
Now, what does this mean for you? It means this is the place to have your voice heard and help our 4-H program be the best that we can be! The youth voice should be heard loud and clear and are a critical of the process. Adult volunteer voices are crucial as we strive to create a program that reflects the needs of our families. We are open to new ideas, change and creativity in the quest of creating a great program!
