White Earth 4-H youth, families, elders, volunteers and community members joined together during the summer of 2024 to build a birchbark canoe, or jiimaan, in the Ojibwe language.
White Earth 4-H once again hosted "Revitalizing Our Recipes: Cooking with What We’ve Got Cook-Off (aka Native Chopped)," which challenged youth to develop creative recipes using ingredients from a pantry of foods found in Native communities.
During the 12-day camp, 250 people stopped by or participated in building the Birchbark Canoe.
White Earth 4-H youth had the opportunity to attend and present their equity project at the True Leaders in Equity Institute in Washington, D.C.
The annual winter camp allows youth and their families to engage with and learn more about the White Earth Tribal 4-H youth program.
