Episode 12: Minnesota's changing workforce

The new face of Minnesota workers

Minnesota's workforce is changing. Our workers are aging and new employees are often newcomers — not just to our community but to our country.

Ryan Allen is a leadership and civic engagement specialist at Extension, and an associate professor at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs. He joins us to discuss the impact of immigrants on Minnesota's workforce and what it means for our future.

"This idea of us being in competition with one another for jobs is gradually going to die away as people realize exactly how important it is for us to have workers for the economic vitality of this state."

— Ryan Allen
