One youth from each county may ride in the opening ceremony with their county flag. The event will end approximately at 5 p.m.The drill team competition gives 4-H horse project members the chance to show off their leadership and teamwork skills. Drill teams show their coordination, timing and speed in synchronized displays of riding. 4-H horse project members in grades 6 through 13 can be a part of a drill team. The Minnesota 4-H Southern Regional Drill Team Competition will be held at Kuka Equestrian Center on Saturday, July 27.

Check-in and arena warm-up will be from 8 to 8:45 a.m. The opening ceremony starts at 9 a.m. sharp. One youth from each county may ride in the opening ceremony with their county flag. The event will end approximately at 5 p.m.

The drill team competition gives 4-H horse project members the chance to show off their leadership and teamwork skills. Drill teams show their coordination, timing and speed in synchronized displays of riding. 4-H horse project members in grades 6 through 13 can be a part of a drill team. Drill teams can include a quad team, freestyle 4-6 team members, freestyle 6-12 members and/or compulsory.

Audience

All youth in grades 6-13.

Cost

$30 per youth per event

Example: If you perform in only one event, your cost is $30. If you perform in two events, it is $60, and so on.

Payment must be received before registration will be approved.

Registration

Registration opens on June 3 and closes on June 24. Team coaches must register their teams in 4-H Online. For assistance, refer to the event registration guide.

The group lease form must be completed and attached to the registration as a PDF.

Each participant is required to sign the Kuka Equestian Center general release liability form. This form must be received one week prior to the event. You can email your signed copy to adegroot@umn.edu or mail it to:
