4-H clover Douglas County 4-H Demonstration Day

When a former 4-H member is asked, “what did you gain through 4-H that has made the most impact on your career success” the skill most often mentioned is public speaking. This is a wonderful judging opportunity to build those skills and gain self-confidence. All Douglas County 4-H members are welcome and encouraged to participate. 4-H premiums will be awarded and there is an opportunity to qualify for a state fair trip for youth 6th grade and up (grade completed.)

In the demonstration area (traditional demonstration, illustrated presentation, youth in action or livestock demonstration*), youth are evaluated on their ability to communicate information, proper use of visuals, correct use of an introduction, body and conclusion, and the ability to answer questions.

Demonstrations will take place in Conference Room C (across from the Extension office) located on the second floor of the Douglas County Courthouse.  Livestock demonstrations will be held during the county fair in August.

Audience
