4-H clover Things you can do in 4-H with horses

Bring your horse when you participate in these activities. Horses can be leased or owned.

Drill Team

Learn coordination, timing, speed and synchronizing with other riders.

Horse training

Take an untrained horse through a six-step training program.

Miniature horses

If you have a horse that is 38 inches high or less, you can show it in a state qualifying show and the 4-H State Miniature Horse Show.

MQHA Boot Camp

You and your horse may be interested in this three-day camp offered by the Minnesota Quarter Horse Association. (Not a 4-H event.)

Ranch Pleasure

This class offers an opportunity for youth with a ranch type horse to find success in the horse program. A good ranch horse has a free-flowing stride of reasonable length in keeping with their structure and can cover a reasonable amount of ground with little effort. The Ranch Pleasure webinar recording will answer any questions.

Western Heritage

Put on your boots and jeans and saddle up! Take part in roping and tying, barrel racing and much more.
