Youth Unleashed (formally Sizzlin' Showcase and Evening of Opportunity) is a showcase event where youth will present their learning in certain project areas.
These project areas are not judged during the county fair, but during Youth Unleashed, because they require a different environment, one with an audience, for a high quality showcase opportunity. Some of the project areas need audience participation, a stage, and unique space.
The following project areas will be featured and judged at Youth Unleashed:
- Creative Writing
- Demonstrations
- Fashion Revue
- Food Revue
- Performing Arts
- Pet Show
A display from each entry is requested to be present at the county fair. Example: Fashion Revue clothing on display on a hanger, or creative writing piece displayed. Please see individual project areas within the 2026 Itasca County 4-H Premium Guide for more detail.
We collaborate with the Cap Bakers Lion’s Club to host a summer picnic for our 4-H members and guests at this event. This is a great family friendly event and a way to show support for fellow 4-H’ers and learn about different project areas!
