4-H clover Meet Grace!

Hello everyone! My name is Grace Thompson. I am the 2024 Summer Intern for the Swift County Extension Office. I was a 4-H member for 11 years and am so excited to be involved in the process that made my 4-H experience so great. I did a large deal of volunteering with my 4-H club throughout my membership. One of the tasks we did at least once a year was road ditch cleaning with the Kerkhoven Lions Club. We had a lot of fun and found some interesting things, such as a tiki mask, a few phones and parts of vehicles.

About me: I will be a sophomore at Bethel University this fall, majoring in chemistry and minoring in biology and political science. I love STEM, history, and trying new things, which is a huge asset to my role as the 4-H Summer Intern for Swift County. I am thrilled to serve you all this summer and am looking forward to growing in my leadership and interpersonal skills!

Somethings I enjoy in my free time is reading, playing the piano, watching Murdoch Mysteries (I cannot stop watching that show) or Blue Bloods, and hanging out with friends and family. I am also the 2024-2025 Kandiyohi County Dairy Princess. While you won't see my head carved in butter at the Minnesota State Fair, I enjoy being in parades and serving milk and ice cream at dairy events. My favorite thing is volunteering with my family in the Dairy Bar on the Friday of the Kandiyohi County Fair. It's a family tradition going back at least 25 years, and I have been a part of it for about 11.

Please feel free to reach out to me at my email address, thom8934@umn.edu.

Let's have a great summer!
