4-H clover Faribault County 4-H Welcomes Summer Intern

Faribault County welcomes the newest member of the 4-H staff, Jordon Smith. Smith began her work on May 22, working with Faribault County 4-H for the next 8-12 weeks. Smith is a Blue Earth Area schools alumna who is currently studying elementary education and special education at Bethany Lutheran College, Mankato, Minn. She was a Faribault County 4-H’er for 10 years and a member of the Blue Earth Lucky Clovers club.

Smith said, “I am excited to approach 4-H through the role as an adult intern instead of an exhibitor. I am super excited to get to aid in educating the community about the wonders of 4-H! I cannot wait to work with the youth through different opportunities such as library visits and day camps. I am hopeful that I will encourage youth in the communities to join 4-H and to have them have the opportunities that I was granted to explore the world of agriculture as well as what each leaf of the 4-H clover stands for and includes.”

Emily Ovrebo, Extension Educator for 4-H Youth Development in Faribault County, stated, “We are happy to have Jordon join the team and we look forward to seeing what she accomplishes during her time working with our 4-H program!”

Faribault County Extension welcomes Smith to the staff and looks forward to providing a learning and growth opportunity.
