4-H clover Celebrating our 4-H'ers in their final year

4-H has been a great experience for many youth throughout Isanti County. We wanted to highlight and celebrate the accomplishments of our 4-H'ers in their last year, so we asked them to share their favorite 4-H memory with us. We are glad to have been a part of their story and wish them the best of luck on their next adventure!

Alison M.

My favorite memories from 4-H come from my involvement in the horse project. The State 4-H Horse Show is one of the best parts of the year, friends from counties all across the state have the chance to come together see old friends and make new friendships. Many moments of laughter and memories are made and continue to build as the week goes on. The feeling of community and showing your horse is one that I will cherish forever.

Over 11 years, I have made countless 4H memories and have grown to be the person I am today because of this organization. My experience in the Isanti County 4H ambassador program has to be one of my favorite memories even though it encompasses so much. Serving as a county ambassador for 5 years I gained so many important life skills like work ethic, time management, and dedication while making great friendships along the way. The ambassador program provided me with opportunities to lead and organize the BBOP overnight, project workshop days, and be a part of county fair planning which are all highlights and memories on their own. On the outside of that, I have been involved in Share the Fun skits, static projects, and the dairy goat project. I am very thankful for 4H and all of the opportunities it has given me and helped me grow.

My favorite memory is being able to go the state fair with both of my older sisters to show poultry.

Over the last 8 years with 4-H I have made many memories and learned so much. One of my favorite 4-H memories is getting the opportunity to participate in round robin. Preparing for it is so much fun because you get to go around and learn about all the different species and how to show them from other 4-H'ers. It builds friendly competition and I learned a lot. I have also greatly enjoyed the Ambassador project. We get the opportunity to plan and organize educational events for the 4-H youth and our community. It is also a fantastic leadership and team building experience! I want to thank all of the wonderful volunteers, 4-H parents, and 4-H youth who help make 4-H what it is.

My favorite memory would probably be the years I’ve spent in the horse + mini horse project. I’ve met so many great friends, leaders, and adults. I never would be where I am in my life without everyone who has had an impact.

My favorite memories in 4-H have undoubtedly revolved around our County Fair. A whole week spent with friends and family while showing horse, what could be better! Relationships and memories that will last a lifetime are all owed to 4-H.
