This week's spotlight is on 4-H'er Scarlett S.! Scarlett is a seventh grader who is a member of the Lakeside Victory Club. She is involved in the horse, swine, crafts and fine arts, and photography projects. She has been a 4-H'er since kindergarten. Scarlett has held the youth roles of secretary and treasurer.
Scarlett's favorite 4-H event is the county fair. She says, "You get to spend so much time with your family and friends. I love being with my animals and presenting all of my hard work." Her favorite 4-H memory also took place at the county fair! "This past summer my uncle Mitch supported me in the livestock auction. It was very special," she adds.
Being in 4-H has made an impact on Scarlett by teaching her about animal care and how to be a good person. She also says volunteers have made an impact on her, and that because of them she has been able to participate in so many activities. "They have cared for me, inspired me, educated me, and supported me to do the best I can," she answered.
Her advice for anyone considering joining 4-H is this: "Signing up for 4-H is so worth it. You will learn so much, try new thing and make lifelong friends."
