4-H clover Youth Spotlight: Liberty E.

4-H'er Liberty E. taking selfie with a horse

The week's spotlight features Liberty E.! Liberty is in her final year in 4-H and has been a 4-H'er since 2018. She is involved in the horse, mini horse, drill team, photography, creative writing and ambassador projects. She has held the role of treasurer for the horse project previously.

Liberty's favorite 4-H events are drill team and the miniature horse project. She says both have helped her grow in her experience as a rider and also as a team member. We also asked Liberty how 4-H has had an impact on her. She said, "It helped me gain many relationships and friendships that will last a lifetime. It has also taught me many things such as leadership, patience, kindness, and community." She added that being an Isanti County 4-H Ambassador has taught her skills in event planning, team building and teaching. When we asked Liberty how volunteers have made an impact on her she said, "Volunteers are an important part of 4-H! We couldn’t do anything without them to be honest."

The advice Liberty would give to those considering signing up for 4-H? "My advice is do it. Even if you're afraid, nervous, or shy. If you don’t have an animal, there are so many of us who would love to help you or your child start their career! 4-H is more than a community, it’s a family."
