Jackson County 4-H is very lucky to have loyal supporters who attend and bid at our livestock auction every year. 80% of each bid remains with the 4-her receiving the bid. 20% of each bid is retained by Jackson County 4-H and is kept locally to run the program. 4-H is dedicated to education and character building. Raising and showing livestock certainly provides learning experiences and builds character in our young people. Your 4-H programming also includes numerous project areas listed in the official premium book and extends into after-school programming, day camps, regional camps, community outreach events, youth and adult leadership opportunities and the Ambassador program. The 4-H Livestock Premium Auction is the largest event contributing to the financial stability of the Jackson County 4-H program and also allows for the possibility of financial assistance to our members along with the opportunity to improve the fair experience for our members and families by updating items at the fair or, in some cases, contributing to improvements of buildings on the fairgrounds.
