Hennepin-University Urban Agriculture Initiative

The Hennepin-University Urban Agriculture Initiative is a partnership between Hennepin County and the University of Minnesota’s Hennepin County Extension Office and brings together This program brings together four key areas: 4-H Youth Development , Agriculture, Food, & Natural Resources , Master Gardeners and Health & Nutrition (SNAP ED & EFNEP). This program will transform vacant urban lots into community gardens. It will also be a learning space for youth and residents and a place of connection for the broader community.  In this place, we will co-design programs with members of the neighborhood where youth and residents will gain skills and knowledge about urban agriculture.  We will also offer opportunities for community building, beauty, healing and intergenerational learning.  Come grow with us!  If you would like to connect, please contact: Jaime Harris @ jsharris@umn.edu or Amie Mondl @ rober199@umn.edu
