County fair registration is open! 4-H members must register exhibits (including animals) and activities for the county fair in FairEntry.com. See the FairEntry user guides and tutorials for detailed instructions on FairEntry. To log into FairEntry, you must know your 4-H Online login (email address and password) as you use the same log in information for BOTH systems.
- Deadline to register for the county fair is Monday, July 8 at 11:59 p.m. This is a firm deadline with consequences if missed.
- Youth must be enrolled as an active 4-H member in 4-H Online to register for the county fair. Every 4-H member must register in FairEntry.com to exhibit at the county fair.
- Enrolling in 4-H Online as a member does not register you for the fair.
- IDing animals in 4-H Online does not register your animals for the county fair.
The Dakota County 4-H Premium Book is your guide to the county fair. The premium book contains rules, guidelines, schedules and other important information needed to exhibit at the county fair. Review each section that pertains to your exhibits to learn more.
Reminder: only exhibits registered online by the county fair registration deadline (July 8) are eligible for exhibition at the fair without penalty. 4-H Competitive Events: Deadlines, Consequences, and Exemptions states: County Fair entries will be accepted after the county’s pre-registration deadline. However, the following penalties will apply:
- Eligible for ribbon placings and premiums up to a blue ribbon; not eligible for overall champion or reserve ribbons
- Not eligible for the 4-H Livestock Auction
- Not eligible for State events including State Fair, State Horse Show and State Dog Show.
