4-H clover County 4-H'er Honored by Kiwanis Sunrisers of Winona

Addrianna Ellsworth was recognized as the Winona County 4-H Youth Representative for the month of September. She is the daughter of Sunshine Ellsworth-Pedersen and David Pedersen, a senior at St. Charles High School and a member of the Little Valley Victors 4-H Club.

Addrianna has exhibited horse, rabbit, dog and poultry projects as well as exploring animals, food preservation, needle arts and fine arts. Her favorite project is the poultry project. She enjoys working with breeding new breeds and the challenges that come with trying to match the American Poultry Association Standard of Perfection. Some of Addrianna’s favorite 4-H memories are during the county fair when the poultry exhibitors study and prepare for the show together and teach other members what they know.

Addrianna has attended Regional 4-H Camp, BLU and YELLO Leadership Conferences and the MN State Fair. She has participated in community service activities including ditch clean-up, making gift baskets for senior citizens, rang bells for Salvation Army and volunteered at Ruby’s Pantry. When asked what she has learned from 4-H, Addrianna replied: “ 4-H has taught me how to be a great leader and good sportsman. I have learned that it is okay if you don’t do as well as you wanted to. It matters that you are respectful and learn from others”.

Winona Sunrisers Kiwanis Club honors one outstanding Winona County 4-H member during its breakfast meeting the fourth Wednesday of each month. The club meets on a weekly basis every Wednesday at 7 a.m. at the Winona Family Restaurant in Winona.
