4-H clover 4-H'er honored by Kiwanis Sunrisers of Winona

Chris B. was recognized as the Winona County 4-H Youth Representative for the month of May. He is the son of David B. and member of the Echo Ridge Pioneers 4-H Club. He is currently a student at Iowa State University.

Throughout his time in 4-H Chris served as a club president and treasurer and completed many 4-H projects. Some of his projects included a survival backpack, custom wood bench, custom knife, custom tomahawk and corn and soybean samples. His favorite 4-H memory was touring the Metz Hart-Land Dairy and getting to sample cheese curds with his 4-H Club.

Chris participated in multiple community service projects with his club including roadside clean-up, helping rake leaves for neighbors in the fall, and caroling at the nursing home. When asked what he has learned through his time in 4-H Chris responded: “4-H has taught me to be a leader for all. Whether it be helping cloverbuds with their first demonstration during a club meeting, or assisting the treasurer with how to contact the bank properly. 4-H is an outstanding way to become a leader within your community and gain professional and life skills.”
