4-H clover 4-H Member Spotlight - Dominick Rients

Place of residence: rural Comfrey

4-H member in which club: Delton Doers

Number of years in 4-H: 8

Involvement with 4-H: Dominick is currently serving as the president of the Delton Doers 4-H Club. He was previously the vice president. He does community service projects with his club, enjoys helping set up the barns for fair and likes to show cattle and do welding projects.

Favorite 4-H project or program (and why): “Showing cattle – cow calf pairs – because it is fun to work with the calf. I enjoy showing Herefords because they have a mild temperament and easy to train.”

Advice to current 4-H youth: “Show for fun, not for winning.” 

Why do you think people should be involved in 4-H? “It is fun, you learn new things and meet new people.”
