4-H clover 4-H Livestock Show Ring Attire

ring attire

The preferred attire for showing livestock at the County Fair is as follows:

Sheep, Swine, Beef Cattle, and Meat Goats-  black pants/jeans without holes, a nice shirt like a button down or polo shirt (white is preferred), and leather boots/ closed-toed shoes.

Dairy Cattle and Dairy Goats- white shirts with white jeans/pants and leather boots/ closed-toed shoes. If white pants cannot be found, blue jeans or black jeans are okay.

Poultry and Rabbits- a long sleeve button down shirt (white is preferred), black pants/jeans without holes, and leather boots/closed toed shoes.

Horse- Please review the Minnesota 4-H Horse Program Rule Book for specific information on what to wear for the different classes during the 4-H Horse show.

Dog Showmanship- The 4-H’er should be suitably dressed for the occasion, wearing clothing that is functional for all movements and will not hinder or detract from the presentation of the dog. The 4-H’er shall be neat and clean; poised and alert. The outfit should be an appropriate backdrop for your dog, as you want your dog to stand out rather than your outfit. The main rule is dress conservatively; showmanship is not a fashion show.
