Wright County Farm Family

Duske Dairy

Garret and Amber are the third generation of the family to farm their land in Wright County. Garret’s grandparents, Herb and Helen Duske, were the first owners followed by their sons, Cliff and his wife, Wendy, along with Keith and his wife, Kathy, who farmed in a partnership until Garret and Amber purchased the farm in 2015. Cliff and Keith are still active on the farm.

Duske Dairy is home to a 120-cow dairy herd milked in a tie-stall barn. The family also has a 300-head feeder cattle operation and are slowly building their beef herd. Corn, soybeans and alfalfa are raised on the farm.

Garret heads up the operation and Amber assists where needed. They have four children: Emmit helps with fieldwork, calf chores and handles a variety of other challenges on the farm; he does a lot of mechanical work/repairs, a passion he learned from his Grandpa Cliff. Hazel has chicken chores and helps anywhere she is needed; Colton helps with calf chores and lends a hand where he can; and Charlotte helps with calf chores and makes sure the farm’s kittens are doing well.

Garret and Amber are involved in their local FFA Alumni chapter. Emmit and Hazel are involved in FFA and 4-H to different degrees.
