Join the Cass County 4-H Horse Project Development Committee (PDC) as we welcome back Briana Visser of Benvelle Equestrian Center to lead us in a six-session clinic series on pleasure riding!
All clinics will be held at the Cass County Fairgrounds in Pine River. Clinics are open to youth in grades 3 and up and will be held 6-8 p.m. on Tuesdays from May 7 to June 11.
Weekly session topics
- May 7 - Basic ground skills and riding maneuvers to execute quality patterns and pleasure performances
- May 14 - Showmanship, horsemanship and equitation-specific riding patterns
- May 21 - English and Western pleasure basics
- May 28 - Negotiating trail obstacles
- June 4 - Horse show checklist: show tack and attire review
- June 11 - Dress rehearsal mini-pleasure fun show
Before each session, families will receive a reminder email and a list of what to bring to ensure a successful experience for the youth and their horse.
All 4-H policies for the horse project will be followed at this event, including the 4-H helmet policy. A current negative Coggins test for all horses in attendance is required for participation.

Cost
$20 per youth
Payment is by check or cash only and will be collected at the beginning of each clinic or can be submitted to the Cass County 4-H office before the sessions.

Registration opens in 4-H Online on March 1 and closes on April 26.
