Add to Calendar2022-08-04 09:00:002022-08-04 16:00:00Aquatic plant identificationAt the aquatic plant identification workshop participants will get the opportunity to touch and handle live aquatic and wetland plants while learning identification tips from experts at the University of Minnesota and the Department of Natural Resources. We expect to have a minimum of 60 different species available.
Professionals and beginners alike are encouraged to attend this workshop. There is an optional morning introductory session beginning at 8 a.m. for anyone who would like to learn more about the terminology used in aquatic plant identification in preparation for the main workshop sessions.
Consultants who conduct aquatic plant surveys for hire that successfully complete the workshop and pass the final knowledge assessment will be added to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resource's listing of Surveyors of Aquatic Plants in Lakes.
Participants can expect a fun, hands-on day learning about the species in Minnesota's underwater forests. Lunch is provided.
