Become a 4-H horse judge
Do you love horses? You can become a 4-H horse judge! Anyone over age 18 can train and certify to judge 4-H horse shows.
The horse judges' training and certification seminar is offered every spring for new and re-certifying judges.
New judges
Between 7 p.m. on Friday and 7 p.m. on Saturday, you will learn all you need to know about 4-H judging, test and certify. Once you're on the list, you will be invited to judge 4-H horse events at county and state fairs.
Re-certifying judges
Judges must re-certify every three years to stay on the 4-H horse judges list. The Friday evening session is strongly suggested for you. The Saturday session is required.
Spectators are welcome, including 4-H’ers, adult volunteer leaders and parents. Accommodations: Check the registration form for group rates at local motels.

We've asked judges to rate their comfort level in judging several horse show categories. Levels refer to the number of years they have held their judge's card and the number of 4-H qualifying shows they have judged.
