Healthy eating

Extension helps Minnesotans make healthy eating choices, move their bodies more, and gain access to nutritious good food. Our nutrition experts offer tailored resources and programs across the lifespan, from pre-k to older adults.

Who we work with

We collaborate with an extensive network of partnerships to create a culture of active living and healthy food for all.

The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP)

University of Minnesota Extension’s Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) team partners with community agencies in Hennepin, Ramsey, Anoka, and Dakota counties to help low-income families develop skills, attitudes, and behaviors necessary to maintain a healthy diet and stay physically active.

Where our programs take place

  • Food shelves
  • Schools
  • Income-based housing complexes
  • Community centers
