Roseau County 4-H enrollment

4-H is the largest youth development organization in Minnesota. We offer an out-of-school, hands-on learning program for anyone in kindergarten through one year past high school. 

Youth can choose from a variety of projects, topics and activities to participate in, ranging from science to animals to group activities to camps and much more. Whether you live on a farm or in the city, in a house or an apartment, 4-H is for everyone!

Each year on September 15, Minnesota 4-H marks enrollment rollover in 4-H Online and the beginning of the new enrollment year. Families can enroll in the new 4-H program year beginning on September 16. 

Enroll

•  Enrolling in 4-H can be done online directly in in 4-H Online.
• Please note that if you have participated in an 4-H program or event in the past, your 4-H Online account is saved, please do not create a new account. Login using your previous login credentials.
• Note: You must be actively enrolled before you can participate in any 4-H event.

Refer to the  4-HOnline Enrollment sheet or contact local 4-H staff for assistance. 

Thank you for your interest in helping our local 4-H program! Without our amazing volunteers, we would not be able to have the success within our program that we do. 

Anyone who is at least 18 years old by Sept. 1 can apply to become a screened and approved 4-H volunteer.

Becoming a screened and approved volunteers is an easy, three-step process. Learn more and apply to become a volunteer.

4-H is all about project-based learning. What are you into? From animal science to creative arts, and more, there's something for everyone. Choose something that interests you and dive in. 

Many times a member will then take what they have learned in a project area to the local showcase event at the county fair in the form of an exhibit, demonstration or to just share it with their club.

 Your first year with 4-H will be filled with exciting opportunities for meeting new people, participating in programs and activities, as well as many learning and memory-making moments in Roseau County, the northwest region, and across Minnesota!

•  Stay connected with the monthly 4-H Clover Update email from the state that includes information about regional, statewide, and national opportunities.
• Each month you will also receive a tidbit postcard in the mail and your family email. It shares upcoming information, including a majority of county and regional programs and opportunities for 4-H youth, but also those that may be statewide and national.
• Find us on social media - search and follow ‘Roseau County 4-H’ on both Instagram and Facebook for upcoming events and opportunities.
• Your 4-HOnline profile is your family’s profile and will be used to enroll/re-enroll each year, register for events, identify which projects you are interested in and ID’ing all animal projects that you may choose to exhibit at the county fair. Most emails from the county will be sent through 4-HOnline.
• 4-H members check out the Minnesota 4-H member resources page to find important 4-H information, opportunities and events. We realize that there is an abundance of information to learn about 4-H, therefore we will be mailing you a packet with new member guides that can help provide you a little background on several aspects of 4-H and Minnesota and Roseau County 4-H resources.

Re-Enroll

•  Re-enroll in 4-H Online. 

• Login into 4-H Online family profile and update any information, select project interests and submit.  

Note:  You must be actively enrolled before you can participate in any 4-H event. All 4-H members must complete re-enrollment annually to stay active in the program.

• 4-H Thrive Squad is a leadership program for youth in grades 4-8 to help assist at Cloverbud after-school programs. 2026-2027 information about the 4-H Thrive Squad coming soon. 

   

What is the local Ambassador program?

• The 4-H Ambassador program is for all youth in grades 6-12 plus one year past high school. The program helps develop 4-H youth leaders to give voice to their passions and sparks. It is an opportunity for youth to make a difference in the world around them.

•  Roseau County 4-H is looking for 2 or more members from every club to join our team of outstanding young people to represent Roseau County 4-H and learn to improve club quality through youth voice and leadership.
•  2026-2027 Meeting Dates: October 4, November 1, December 6, February 7, March 7,  April 11, and May 2, with additional summer meetings and special trips (BLU, Campus Immersion, YELLO) throughout the year.
